Our Catherine Mazur explains:

Wow, what an incredible couple days at Cisco Live 2023! On day one I attended the Pride Inclusive Community breakfast where so many of us were meeting each other for the first time. Thank you Narissa Khan for arranging and including me. Then Jessie Pavelka delivered a session on Inclusion & Collaboration where he had an invigorating conversation with Gloria Goins, Cisco’s Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, it was a dynamic! Gloria is as real as it gets and so committed to the work she brings to the world. Then we had lunch with the Pavelka Pioneers, allowing us to meet most of them for the first time. We got to hear what they’re up to, their struggles bringing wellbeing into their teams and their passion for the work. Thank you Eliza Rowe SMC, Amy Davis, Chanel Davis (and others).

On day two we delivered a workshop to IT Leadership where we talked about wellbeing as a Leader, what are the key attributes of leadership in today’s world, what gets in the way of those attributes, bringing wellbeing to your teams, and how to be a role model. This was an incredible interactive session and as we closed the session, the Leaders walked away with simple things they can start doing today. Thank you Sarah Sousa for including us in your agenda!

Then we ended with the amazing Nish Parkar interviewing Jessie on Pavelka and wellbeing at Cisco and in the world. It was an amazing few days and I’m so incredibly grateful for Pavelka and the work we do.
